Chapters 16-20

*Chapter 16

JaeWon was going crazy on the dance floor. HeeJun couldn't believe what he was seeing. WooHyuk couldn't, either. "HeeJun! What'z up with JaeWon?"

HeeJun shrugged. "I got no idea! Look at him! He's all over those girls!"

"What about EunJu?"

"I don't know, WooHyuk. Somethin's not right about this! Maybe we should talk to him. What should we do?"

"Maybe we should just let him tell us."

HeeJun nodded. "Okay."

JaeWon was having fun. At least, he thought he was. So many girls were up on him, he couldn't believe it. He wondered if this would actually help him forget about EunJu. He didn't think so, but he was willing to give it his all to do so.

KangTa pulled over to the little park place Tony was talking about. He could make out a shadow sitting next to the fountain. He was pretty sure it was JiYun. Taking a deep breath, he started out towards her.

JiYun let the soft sounds of the fountain overtake her mind. She was so confused... why was Tony being so cold to her? She always used to be able to count on him... and now, the only place that gave her mind peace was this place... too bad she used to share it with Tony. All of a sudden, she heard a noise behind her. Startled, she turned around.

KangTa saw her turn around. He tentatively raised his hand to her.

"Who is that?" she asked herself. "It'z not Tony... is it?" As the figure got closer, she could see that it wasn't Tony... it was KangTa!

"KangTa?" she asked, amazed. "What are you doing here? How did you know I was here?"

KangTa took one look at JiYun and melted. He could tell that she had been crying. He stepped over to her and swept her into a big hug. He took in her sweet scent and thought how vulnerable and how beautiful she was... how could he ever let her go now?

JiYun gasped. She too, let herself fall into the embrace. KangTa was so strong... so caring... but Tony? What about Tony? But KangTa was here with her. He cared about her. "KangTa! What are you doing?"

He pulled away reluctantly. "I just was so worried about you. I'm so sorry that I made you wait so long... our shooting took a longer time than I thought it would. I'm really sorry..."

JiYun's lips trembled. "I thought that you guys weren't coming... that you forgot all about me." she took a deep breath. "I mean, after Tony basically ditched me..." She couldn't help it, she started crying again. "I'm sorry! I feel so stupid... damn, why the hell am I crying?" She forced a laugh. "I'm so pathetic. You must think I'm a basket-case."

"No, no," KangTa said. He reached over and gently wiped away her tears. "You really care about Tony, huh?"

"Yeah..." JiYun started. "I mean, no! Not in that way. It's just that it hurts. He was -- is, I think, -- my best friend, and he just doesn't have time for me anymore."

"He's an idiot. God, he doesn't realize how important you are. Don't feel bad, JiYun. Tony's just being really stupid rite now. He'll get over it."

"Thanx, KangTa." JiYun looked into his creamy brown eyes and her heart skipped a beat. They reminded her of Tony... No! It was KangTa. She never realized how good looking he was before. And he was so sweet...

*Chapter 17

Tony was tired from all that dancing and all the stress of the shootings and practices, but he continued to dance with YooRa, anyway. He couldn't help it, but everytime he looked at YooRa, he thought of JiYun for some reason. He didn't know why the hell that was happening, but it was really frustrating him. YooRa was there with him. It was YooRa he was interested in... wasn't it?

"Tony, you're so adorable." YooRa said, pinching his cheek.

He blushed. YooRa was pretty cute, too. But he didn't really like the way she treated him like a kid sometimes. It seemed like he was playing with him. He didn't think she was the type to do that, though, so he just erased those thoughts from his head.

"Hey, let me get some stuff to drink. I'll be back in a few seconds," Tony said and left.

Watching Tony move away, YooRa sighed and leaned against the wall. She was bored already. "Hmm..." she mused. She had just spotted a cute guy on the other side of the club. She slowly made her way across the club towards him.

Tony joined HeeJun, who was buying some drinks too. "So, man, how'z it goin with YooRa?"

Tony paused. "It'z all good, so far."

"Do you really like her?"

He hesitated. "Yeah."

HeeJun looked at Tony strangely, then looked past him. HeeJun opened his eyes wide. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. It was YooRa all over some other guy! HeeJun tried to act normal. After all, it could be nothing. He looked again, and then decided it wasn't nothing. YooRa and that guy were practically making out!

Unfortunately, Tony saw them together the same time HeeJun did. "What the hell!" Tony muttered. He tensed up and started to back away from the counter where the drinks were.

"Tony..." HeeJun started, but Tony didn't let him finish. He turned around and walked away as fast as he could.

"Shit," HeeJun said, running his hands through his hair. "What the hell is wrong with that girl?" he asked himself. He wanted to check it out himself. He walked over to her and yanked her away from that guy.

"HeeJun, what the hell do you think you're doing?" YooRa said.

"That's kinda funny, I was gonna ask you the same thing."

"What??" YooRa frowned. "Oh..." she realized. "You mean him?" she asked, pointing to the guy HeeJun had pulled her away from. "HeeJun, you need to get all your info straight before comin here and tryin to kill me. What, you're mad cuz of Tony huh. Well listen. Me and Tony are not even goin out so why can't I talk to some other guy? And so what if me and Tony were goin out? It'z not like I was kissin the guy. We were talkin. We could be friends you know. Damn, just mind your own business."

HeeJun stared at her openmouthed. He couldn't believe she had said all that to him. "Well I'm just lookin out for Tony... and he ran out cuz he saw you two together. He'z so damn sensitive... and from where we were at it did look like you guys were... never mind."

YooRa sighed. Tony ran out? So immature... "You guys are so possessive. I can't talk to a single other person without bein all interrogated and shit. Gawd..." She turned to the guy and said something inaudible to him. He nodded and moved away. "I'm gonna go look for Tony," YooRa said.

HeeJun just nodded. Maybe YooRa was right. He should just keep away from them. He went to go find WooHyuk. At least they could have some fun together dancing with other girls.

*Chapter 18

JiYun felt that she could stare into KangTa's eyez forever. She didn't know that KangTa felt the same way about her. She finally realized that KangTa was holding her hand. His eyez... they were so gorgeous, they were holding so much care... and so similar to how Tony used to look at her. She tried to forget about it. Tony wasn't in her life anymore.

"JiYun," KangTa began. He paused. He didn't know what to say to her. Should he tell her his feelings for her? Should he defend Tony? Should he just hold her? He opted for the third choice. He didn't want to ever let JiYun go.

JiYun felt KangTa's arms go around her once again. She put her head on his shoulder. How many times had done this with Tony? Ahhh.... she couldn't stop doing this to herself. Why was she comparing KangTa to Tony? She raised her head... and found KangTa'z eyes locked in her own. KangTa couldn't help it. He had to do it... he bent his head down towards her and his lips found hers. The kiss softened and deepened...

and all the while, JiYun hated herself because she was thinking about Tony.

Tony walked back and forth outside of the club. Various thoughts and pictures ran through his mind, but the one person that occupied his mind wasn't YooRa, it was JiYun. He couldn't believe it, but he was missing her so much that he would have given anything to be with her at this moment. He wondered where she was -- and then remembered that he told KangTa the place that he and JiYun always went to. KangTa wasn't back yet... they couldn't be... could they?

"Tony? Tony, where are you?" YooRa was looking and sounding really exasperated.

"I'm right here."

"Tony, what are you doing? Why did you run out like that?" she asked.

"Because... I don't know, cuz... just... I guess...cuz you were with that guy..." stammered Tony nervously.

"And you felt bad about that? Tony, no offense, but I can kick it with whoever I want to...guy or girl. It'z not like we're together or anything."

Tony felt really stupid right then. YooRa was right. Who was he ever fooling? It wasn't as if YooRa was his girlfriend. "You're right..."

YooRa smiled with relief. "Good, now come back, let'z dance some more."

"Wait,"

YooRa groaned in her mind. She knew what was coming, and she didn't particularily want it.

Tony had decided to do something about this whole situation. He thought it was right... for him and YooRa at least, at this point. He tried to ignore the painful tugs JiYun still brought to his heart. "YooRa, so I know that we're not going out... but I want us to. So... you wanna hook up?"

YooRa stared at the ground. She knew it. She didn't really want a boyfriend... especially not Tony. But he was too cute to refuse. It wouldn't be too serious, she thought. She made up her mind. "Sure, Tony. Now, can we go back?"

Tony was happy. Sort of. She said yes. He couldn't understand why he couldn't be completely satisfied with YooRa. She would be just the right thing to help him forget about JiYun... at least, his new conflicting feelings about JiYun. He took a deep breath. "So now then that means you can't go pick up other guys now."

"Yeah, okay." YooRa wasn't too thrilled with that, but oh well. It wasn't like it was a life sentence. She knew she would eventually do whatever she wanted. She always did. And she always got whatever she wanted. That would never change.

*Chapter 19

JiYun reminded herself that this was KangTa she was kissing, not Tony. She opened her eyes wide and pulled away. Flustered, she couldn't even look at KangTa straight in the eye.

KangTa stood there, frozen. What had he started? It was out now, there was no turning back. He had to do something, but what? He took a deep breath. "JiYun...I'm sorry..."

JiYun looked up sharply. So he hadn't meant to kiss her. "Sorry?" she laughed bitterly. "For what? Kissing me cuz you felt sorry for me? Maybe cuz I looked so vulnerable, and you thought you could take advantage..." JiYun burst into tears again. She couldn't handle this, not now. Her tears just seemed to flow today.

"What?" KangTa looked surprised, hurt, and confused all at once. "Cuz I felt sorry for you? You really think that I would take advantage of you? Is that what kind of guy I am to you, JiYun?"

She looked up at him through her tears. Her blurred vision didn't hide KangTa's face, though. She saw his eyes, the hurt and the pain, and she knew the truth... "Oh..." she murmured, hand over her mouth.

He reached out his hand and clasped hers with his. "JiYun, I've had feelings for you ever since we met... but I didn't want to say anything because I thought you and Tony hyung..."

"NO!" she said quickly. Too quickly, JiYun, realized. KangTa's brows furrowed and it seemed as if he could read her mind. No, she didn't feel like that about Tony, they were just good friends. Maybe if she convinced herself...

KangTa sorrowfully noted JiYun's reaction. He knew it . She liked Tony. She always had. His heart felt like it was breaking in two. He couldn't do it. He couldn't go for her when he knew where her heart trully lay.

JiYun slowly drew closer to KangTa. He was the sweetest, most adorable guy. Why not? Why shouldn't she go for it? He liked her, she knew it now. So maybe if she gave him, and herself, a chance, it would be for the best. Yes, it could happen. She drew him into a warm hug, placing her head against his comfortable chest. "KangTa..."

He felt his pulse quicken. God, she was so beautiful...but it was wrong. I can make her forget Tony, he thought. I can make her happy. Wrapping his strong arms around her, he slowly brushed his lips against hers...deep down, he knew... he wasn't the guy she wanted. Pressing her firmly towards him, he erased the thought from his mind. She was with him, now. Whatever part Tony still had in her heart, KangTa would make it his.

*Chapter 20

JiYun walked into her apartment, her lips still feeling the kisses that KangTa had given her. As she flipped on the light switch, she was startled to find YooRa sitting on the couch.

"YooRa!" she gasped. "What are you doing in the dark?"

"Waiting for you," she answered, stretching. "I have to tell you about tonite, gawd, what a trip! These friends of yourz, they trip out way too much. Oh... by the way, I'm really sorry about us being late, but that spazz KangTa...geez, he had to tell you a time, huh."

JiYun gave YooRa a look, but she didn't notice. She just kept on talking. "Yeah, HeeJun, damn, he flipped out on me cuz I was talkin to some other guy. He thinks me and Tony are married or something. Even if we were, I'd still go talk to other guys, ok?"

At the mention of Tony's name, JiYun's heart jumped. Even so, she forced herself to concentrate on YooRa's story. "That Tony, he's so damn sensitive! That's so annoying on a guy. But I said yes when he asked me out anyways cuz...well, he can be so cute... and he got some stuff he can offer... you know?"

JiYun couldn't believe what YooRa was saying about Tony. "YooRa, what the hell are you trying to pull on Tony?" she angrily snapped.

"What are you talkin about? I'm not doing anything to him."

At the sound of YooRa's noncommital response, JiYun completely lost it. "What is wrong with you? You've completely changed!!! When did you get so selfish? Is it cuz you're from America? Because of your stupid school and all that... just cuz of that, you think you're the shit and nothing can touch you. Well, you're wrong, YooRa, and you're acting like a total bitch!"

YooRa glared at JiYun coldly. "You're just jealous that I'm successful already while you're just a student at some no name school. Not to mention that Tony likes me, not you," she smirked. "Aww, Tony's lost his heart. Oh, well. The poor boy has the biggest crush on me, and I'm gonna play on that... I'm not stupid, you know. That boy'z got connections, and he's not bad looking, either."

"Tony really likes you, and you're playing with his mind! So you just plan on playing him or dumping him whenever you feel like it? What kind of sick joke do you think his life is? He got money? He got connections? He's cute? That's all you can say, and you're now his girlfriend? What about him, the person?! What happened to you, YooRa? You used to care about people. Now all you care about is what these people can get you!"

YooRa stood up. "Girl, you gotta chill. Nothing's changed, least of all me. And besides you ain't the one to be talkin when you've been playin games with him all this time."

JiYun's mouth was open. "What games? I haven't been doing anything to him!"

"Whatever." YooRa rolled her eyes. "That's why you guys still are the best of friends, right?" she asked sarcastically. She walked out of the living room and headed to her room. "You better watch what you're saying, JiYun, cuz you don't have a damn clue," she called to JiYun over her shoulder, leaving JiYun stunned and ready to cry for about the twenty-seventh time that day.
